We spent a long weekend at the Claremont Hotel and we thought the staff were great and the hotel good value for money. The breakfast menu is very good with several options our favourite full english, scramble egg and smoked salmon (my favourite) , cereal, toast, croissants, fresh fruit, the list was superb

Could have indicated on their website that they are over a mile to Brighton

Location is perfect and so the room standard

Good location, very quiet and relaxing. Service was excellent and near to the beach.

The bathroom was luxurious and the bed was very comfortable

Had booked and been confirmed for four post bedroom , but a mix up with the online booking , we had to down grade to the superior bedroom , although it was a beautiful room , the four poster was special treat from my partner as I had never slept in one before. The staff were kind enough to give us free parking for 2 days as compensation. The cooked breakfast could do with being a little bigger.

The best features of The Claremont are the art work on display and the lovely garden which is being renovated. If it was better kept this would be a wonderful relaxing place to be. Full ashtrays swimming with rain adorned the tables and the herb garden was overgrown and in flower. The features in the garden such as the old fireplaces and the roller and hip bath are a nice touch. The art displayed in the hall, dining room, drawing room and study are all for sale. These rooms are well presented and welcoming. The pillows in the room are plump and the sweets in a jar again a nice touch.

We stayed in room 5. We did not like the small room and the shower room and toilet being straight in from the door entrance;it felt as though people on the landing could hear us in the toilet!!! The rooms we have stayed in in Venice were larger than this! The cheap squeaky bedstead and the sliding door into the shower room was disappointing. The bureau and the two chairs filled up the room and without moving them there was not room enough to get around the bed. This double room at £130 was not, even at Brighton and Hove prices, good value for money. There were not enough staff to make visitors feel welcomed. Several guests had mobility problems and we noticed they had to make their way up the flight of marble stairs to the entrance also there was three flights of stairs to our room. We would not recommend this hotel to family or friends. Altogether a very disappointing experience.

The staff were really friendly and helpful. Nice clean room. A bonus going in May when they have some of the 'Open House' art on display.

The room was fairly small for the price. The breakfast was nice but relatively small portions of food given, especially the smoked salmon scrambled egg,it came with half a muffin only! Small things really but generally I'd stay there again.

I couldn't pick just one thing that I liked as the whole experience was wonderful. All the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. My room was fantastic. It was a very good size for a single room, very comfortable bed and very tastefully decorated. Lovely toiletries in the en suite and a great range of beverages on the hospitality tray including a cafetiere and jar of ground coffee. The flat screen tv had great reception. Breakfast was delicious and I was provided with a fantastic fruit salad which wasn't on the menu.I would recommend this hotel to anyone , it is a little gem. Buses pass the top of the road frequently throughout the day which made it very easy to get into the city centre. It is also a pleasant 25 minute walk into the centre.

The staff were friendly, the hotel was spotless and very well decorated. The location is in a quiet street which suited me, but is about 30 mins walk from the pier.

A very friendly hotel, large room, good bed, spotlessly clean everwhere, very good breakfast, a good walk into town but there is an excellent bus service.
